My June 13 Competition

06/23/2009

My show on June 13, I was a Circus Star. I rode Ranger. I won Reserve Champion in both the senior walk trot division and walk trot games division. Reserve Champion is second best in the whole division. It was Ranger’s first time competing in showmanship. We hade been working hard on all the things he would need to do for this competition. We earned 3rd place. Showmanship is based on having the best-groomed horse and a pattern that I had to lead Ranger through by hand. We earned 2nd in English Equitation which is based on how well I can work with my horse. We also earned 2nd in English Pleasure. That means Ranger performed well and showed how pleasurable he is to ride. It was Rangers first time competing in Western, he was a bit nervous and didn’t score as high later on. But that’s okay I still love riding him. Western Horsemanship is based off of a pattern and on how I work with my horse. In Western Pleasure we earned 5th place. It’s judged like the English Pleasure. In the Trail Class we went through an obstacle course. Ranger was judged on how he responded to each situation. We earned 4th place. In the Games division we placed 3rd in barrels, 2nd in poles, and 2nd in the bowtie race. In these games we had to be fast, because the winner is the fastest horse. All in all, it was a great day and both Ranger and I were very tired. You can see some pictures of it on my photo page.

About Me

06/07/2009

Hi boys and girls,

I am Princess Victoria. I am a little different than most princesses. I am a bit of a tom boy. I like to be outdoors and go on adventures with my horses. I especially like riding in horse competitions.  I have 3 horses and their names are Ranger, Stormy, and Gabe. I ride in two different styles, English and Western.

A few weeks ago I rode Stormy in a western show competition and won several awards. I would like to tell you about them.  I won Grand Champion. 2nd place in Showmanship and Grooming, 1st place in Horsemanship, 2nd place in Pleasure, and 2nd place in Command. I also won 1st place in a pole race and 1st place in barrel racing. It was a very exciting day for me. I prepared for this day for a long time and all of my hard word made a difference.

This Saturday, I will be riding in a western and english show with Ranger. Come back to visit my blog and I will tell you all about it and share some pictures with you.

I’d also love to come see you and your friends to tell you all about my equestrian adventures.
